J Walter Juckett Award // ARCC // Robert Nemer

It was great to produce another J Walter Juckett Award video for the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce. This year’s award recipient was Robert Nemer. Just about everyone that lives in the Capital Region of NY is probably familiar with the Nemer Auto Group name, though I didn’t know until producing this video all of the humanitarian work that Robert Nemer and his wife, Frannie, have done in this area. In addition to  hearing from the people who’ve worked alongside Robert talk about all of the great things he’s done in this part of NY, it was also an inspiration to hear Robert accept the award at the ARCC’s annual dinner and hear him enthusiastically speak about what he’s planning next in regards to helping others within the community and beyond.

It was a pleasure to film a concert at Luzerne Music Center over the summer. Here’s a segment from the Carnival of the Animals, which was performed by the talented attendees of the band camp!

Grassland Bird Trust // Updated Promo Video

Here’s  an updated promo video that was completed for the non-profit organization, Grassland Bird Trust, which conserves grasslands for wildlife and also educates people about the importance of grasslands. What made the creation of this video particularly special was going to Washington County during the winter months to  get footage of short-eared owls, which are classified as an endangered species in New York State, with an estimated population of less than 100.  Some days I went to record footage there weren’t any birds out in the open fields, while other days it was full of life. I was fortunate to have been out in the field to film footage on a couple days where there were quite a bit of short-eared owls hunting in the open fields, and it was a thrill to get footage of them in action. It was also nice just being outdoors  in nature during the midst of the pandemic.  I wish Grassland Bird Trust continued success with educating people about the many species that call grasslands their home and with the organization’s efforts to conserve grasslands throughout the nation.

2020 Winter Raptor Fest // Grassland Bird Trust // Virtual Event Video Sample

The annual Winter Raptor Fest hosted by Grassland Bird Trust typically attracts thousands of bird enthusiasts to the Washington County Fairgrounds, though holding this year’s event in the same fashion as previous years obviously wasn’t an option because of the pandemic. Rather than cancel the event, it was decided to limit the attendance to under 30 attendees who purchased premium tickets, and hold the event in a pay-per-view virtual format for others who wanted to view the programs and support Grassland Bird Trust’s land conservation efforts. It was a fun experience to be there to record the event, and it was also a pleasure to co-produce the virtual video with  a fellow video production company based in Saratoga Springs, Look Media, which specializes in current event interview news pieces. I filmed the event alongside Dayna and Jack from Look Media, and Look Media’s owner, Jesse, helped direct the event. Included in this post are small portions of the American Kestrel segment and Harris Hawk demonstrations. 100% of the funds generated from the annual Winter Raptor Fest including this one go to conserving grasslands, and I wish Grassland Bird Trust continued success with its events. Grassland Bird Trust // Winter Raptor Fest // Promo Video

Last year I filmed at the Winter Raptor Fest event, which is held annually at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The event is hosted by Grassland Bird Trust, formerly known as Friends of the IBA, which conserves grassland that at-risk birds such as endangered short-eared owls rely on to nest and forage for food. I’ve always been impressed by the large turnouts of Grassland Bird Trust events, and the Winter Raptor Fest is the grandaddy of gatherings they host. This is definitely an event that any bird enthusiast would want to attend, as the Winter Raptor Fest provides a unique opportunity to learn about and see birds of prey such as hawks, falcons, and owls up close. For me, it’s always a majestic sight to see a raptor soaring in the air in this region, and it was cool to get to see so many different kinds of raptors at the Winter Raptor Fest as well as at other video shoots I’ve done for Grassland Bird Trust.  Because of the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, the plan is to limit the number of attendees for the 2020 Winter Raptor Fest scheduled to be held in the fall, as well hold a virtual event that anyone with an internet connection can view from the comfort of home. Thank you to Scott from Grassland Bird Trust for lending his voice in the voiceover and to Laurie, who helped craft the message of the video. Barkeater Chocolates || Corporate Selections || Promo

Barkeater Chocolates // Corporate Selections // Promo

It was nice to revisit the Barkeater Chocolates factory store in the Adirondack region (North Creek, New York) back in January of this year. Years back, I created an in-store video for Barkeater Chocolates that gave visitors an inside look at how its chocolate products were made. I had also filmed at the factory store when the company was featured in a video promoting the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce. For this project, I joined Behan Communications for the recording of a video press release for a new piece of equipment that Barkeater Chocolates was acquiring. During the video shoot, we also recorded some segments that could serve as material for standalone promotional videos specific to the season, holiday, or specialty service that the company offered. Featured in this blog post is a video that was produced to highlight its corporate gift options. It was great to see some familiar faces at the Barkeater Chocolates store and get some delicious samples of their products! It was a pleasure to work with them again and I wish the company continued success.

ARCC || J. Walter Juckett Award || Paul Dowen

ARCC // J. Walter Juckett Award // Paul Dowen

Here’s a video Junda Video Enterprises produced for the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce, which premiered at the chamber’s annual dinner event at The Sagamore. Its focus is on the recent winner of the prestigious J Walter Juckett Community Service Award, Paul Dowen, and shows the positive impact Paul has had on the community. It features testimonials from a couple executives of boards that Paul serves on as well as three of Paul’s colleagues at the firm, Whittemore, Dowen & Ricciardelli, LLP, where Paul is a CPA and partner at. Paul’s been an active Rotary member since 1982, is an active board member of his church (Christ Church United Methodist), volunteers his accounting expertise for the Crandall Park Beautification Committee, is an active board member of the SUNY Adirondack Foundation, is an active board member of the Adirondack Hockey Coalition, and also participates in an assortment of volunteer activities at his workplace. From being around Paul for the filming and hearing the testimonials about him, it was apparent that he’s a low-key and behind the scenes type of person (something I can certainly relate to!), though he was super easy to work with and pleasant throughout the entire process of being filmed, interviewed, and supplying still photos for the project. It was also pretty evident how well-regarded and respected Paul is amongst his peers. It’s certainly inspiring to see all of the good that one man has provided to the community and that he has done so in a quiet and humble manner. In addition to working with Paul and

Friends of the IBA: Grassland Birds at Risk

Here is a video that Junda Video Enterprises has been working on with the Friends of the IBA (FIBA) since the summer of last year.  FIBA is a nonprofit organization that works to conserve the Washington County grasslands and protect the at-risk birds that inhabit the area. The video debuted at the organization’s annual Winter Raptor Fest and will be used used to spread awareness online, for B2B purposes, and at events that the organization hosts. It was fun to get to film and learn about some of the creatures that inhabit the grasslands of upstate New York and it was also cool to see the the rare hawks and owls up close. If you’re interested in learning more about FIBA, check out its website.   Relevant Links: http://www.ibafriends.org http://www.winterraptorfest.com

Reality Dance Studio Web Commercial B+W

Reality Dance Studio

Here’s a short web commercial for a dance studio in Queensbury, called Reality Dance Studio, which offers dance instruction for all ages in ballet and a variety of other styles of dance. It was fun to style this video the way that the owner of the studio, Caroline, wanted it to look like, and I’m happy with how it turned out. Also, thanks go to Skyler for being a great actress/dancer in the video. Company Website: http://www.realitydancestudio.com
